“Originally from the Philippines, Liam moved to the United States in 2006 with his family. He attended the University of South Carolina where he received a Bachelor of Music Education degree. During his time at the University of South Carolina he was a member of the USC University Band, USC Symphonic Winds, and USC Wind Ensemble as a bassoonist. He also marched with the USC Marching Band as a baritone player. After graduating in 2018, Liam served as the Interim Director of Bands at Westwood High School for the 2018 – 2019 school year. He will begin his first full year of teaching as the Director of Bands at Berry Shoals Intermediate School.
While receiving his Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina, Liam’s passion for the marching arts lead him to being involved with South Carolina high school marching bands as a marching and music instructor. He has served on staff for the White Knoll High School Marching Band, Dutch Fork High School and most recently, the Irmo High School Marching Band where he completed his student teaching internship. His professional affiliations include NAfME, SCMEA, and SCBDA.
Liam loves playing the bassoon and is a member of the Carolina Wind Symphony. He also enjoys playing video games, and drawing. Liam is excited for his first year with the Berry Shoals Intermediate School and the James F. Byrnes Band.”
