Mr. Pham is a 2016 graduate of Furman University with a Bachelors of Arts in Music with a focus on saxophone. He has studied saxophone under Dr. Matt Olson. During his time at Furman, he has performed with the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and the Bergman Saxophone Quartet. His marching experience includes being a member of Dorman High School’s marching band and indoor drumline from 2008-2012, Furman University’s Paladin Regiment from 2012-2015, and Carolina Crown Drum Corps for the 2013 season.
Prior coming to Byrnes, he has served as the woodwind instructor and music arranger for the Berea High School marching band in Berea, SC since 2015.
Mr. Pham is a free-lance saxophone instructor, working with League Academy’s band program, as well as lessons over at Riverside High School. He currently performs with Converse’s wind ensemble, and the Poinsett Wind Symphony, which is under the baton Les Hicken and Jay Bocook.
Here’s a fun fact: Mr. Rhoden was his student teacher over at Dorman High School back in 2011!
Mr. Pham’s professional affiliations include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
