GABRIEL SULLIVAN

ABNER CREEK & FLORENCE CHAPEL MIDDLE SCHOOLS

Gabriel Luke Sullivan is a native of Lugoff, SC. Gabriel will be entering his first year of teaching as an associate band director/percussion instructor for both Abner Creek and Florence Chapel Middle School. He is a 2024 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of South Carolina, with a bachelors degree in Music Education and a certificate in percussion performance. His last year as a student, Mr. Sullivan spent the fall as the battery technician for the Lexington High School Cat Band in Lexington, SC, and during the summer of 2022 he acted as the percussion instructor for the Fannin County HS Band in Blue Ridge, GA. 

 

As a music student at the University of South Carolina, Mr. Sullivan was the principal percussionist for the UofSC Symphonic Winds and as well as the UofSC Wind Ensemble. In addition, Mr. Sullivan was a member of the UofSC Percussion Ensemble, where he was fortunate enough to earn the opportunity to play at the 2021 PASIC IPEC Concert, as well as a member of the Palmetto Pans Ensemble. Also at UofSC, Mr. Sullivan marched for three of his four years as a snare drummer in the Carolina Band, two of which, he marched as the center snare and battery section leader.

 

In his free time, Mr. Sullivan enjoys playing pickle ball with his wife Katie and spending time with friends and family. Mr. Sullivan is passionate about music education and is eager to provide consistent and intentional instruction to his students. He is looking forward to being a member of the Spartanburg School District 5 music team, and cannot wait to get started!
