ERIC BELL

Band Director
ABNER CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOL

Mr. Eric Bell is a band director in Spartanburg District 5 Schools. Eric Bell is currently in his 32nd year teaching band. He has taught in Spartanburg County District 5, the Cobb County School District, and the Greenville County School District. He has served on the marching band staff at Blue Ridge High School, and Mauldin High School. He also arranges and edits music, in addition to serving as a consultant to marching and concert bands throughout South Carolina. 

 

He received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of South Carolina and completed his Master of Music Education degree from North Greenville University. Mr. Bell’s bands have been recognized with consistent Superior ratings at the SCBDA Concert Festival. His ensembles have given featured performances at the South Carolina Music Educators Conference and at the University of Georgia Middle School Band Festival. He has also served as conductor of the Sinfonia Orchestra, which is part of the Greenville County Youth Orchestra program.

 

Mr. Bell has served as a clinician for Region bands, All-County bands and Summer Camps throughout South Carolina. He has also served as guest clinician at the University of Georgia Middle School Band Festival. He is a member of Phi Beta Mu Honorary Bandmaster Fraternity, South Carolina Band Directors Association, National Band Association, and Pi Kappa Lambda. 

 

He is also a founding member of the Foothills Saxophone Quartet, and serves as a charter member of the Foothills Saxophone Quartet. Mr. Bell also serves as the music director of the Hosanna Brass.

 

Mr. Bell and his wife, Cheryl, have two daughters – Reece and Audrey.
