Band Director

Alicia Crutchlow is the Director of Bands at Florence Chapel Middle School in Duncan, SC. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina (Bachelor of Music Education) and Southern Wesleyan University (Masters in School Administration & Supervision and Masters in Classroom Leadership). She is currently in her 18th year of teaching. Her bands have performed at the Music for All Southeastern Regional Concert Festival, Southern Division National Band Association/ College Band Directors National Conference, the Grand National Adjudicators Invitational and the SC Music Educators Association In-Service Conference. While at Florence Chapel MS her bands have consistently earned Superior Ratings at the SCBDA Concert Performance Assessment and received the SCBDA Outstanding Performance Award. In previous years, she has been selected as Teacher of the Year and one of District Five’s Finest Teachers.


In addition to teaching, Alicia is a clinician across the region. She serves as the conference chair for the SC Band Directors Association. She is a member of NaFme, the SCBDA, ASBDA, NBA, and Phi Beta Mu.


Alicia is a life-long resident of Lyman, SC— and a former Byrnes Drum Major. She loves teaching and living in the same community and district where she grew up. Alicia is a book worm, loves serving her church, and always has a family vacation planned. She lives with her husband Jason (who she met in college band), their wonderful sons Grayson and Connor, and their unmannerly dachshund.
